What we'll cover

How to localize and annotate videos bounding boxes, keypoints, polygons, and polylines.

Identifying the drawing tools in the annotation panel.

The bounding box tool and keypoint tool on the left side of the video viewer panel. Once you select the tool type you will then select the type of entity that you want to create. The selections you will have available will depend on the configuration of your labeling ontology.

How to use the bounding box tool

1) How to draw a bounding box

Select: Create New Annotation

You can start creating a new annotation by clicking the bounding box tool

Select: Annotation Types

You will be given options after you click on the tool. These options vary depending on how you have configured the task ontology. Here is what it looks like:

How to annotate using polygons and polylines

1. Draw a polygon or polyline.

  • Click the polygon or polyline icons in the toolbar.
  • Click to add vertices to define the shape.
  • Click Enter, Close Shape in the Options panel, or click the first vertex to close a polygon.
  • Click Enter or End Line in the Options panel to end the line.
  • Select and drag vertices to to edit the shapes.
  • Select the Add or Delete radio buttons to switch between modes to add or delete points from a shape.
  • Click an existing vertex to delete it in delete mode.
  • Hover over the midpoint of a segment and click the mid-point vertex to add it as a new vertex.

2. Set classifications and relationships

Depending on the ontology set by your administrator, you may have classifications or relationships to set on specific frame of the video. Please consult your annotation guidelines.
